In Hawaiin,  there was the chant, and the chant was and still is the respected Hawaiian ‘creation story’ known to all who seriously study Hawaiian culture; The Kumulipo, the ‘mo’olelo’ of how these amazing islands and people who litterally came from the stars. One of the tenants of this work is the constant reality of ‘Duality.’ Here the artist shows us the sacred cape, ahu ula, of the Ali’I’s as well as the helmet, known as “Mahiole.” The sea and the designs are significant to the ‘duality.’
